Houston Division President Kroger

Responsibilities
Laura is President for Kroger Houston, a division of The
Kroger Co. (NYSE: KR). Based in Shenandoah, Texas,
Laura is responsible for providing vision, promotional
strategies, and implementing initiatives to grow Market
Share of 108 stores across Houston, East Texas and
Southwest Louisiana. Kroger Houston employs more than
16,000 associates who serve customers through food
inspiration and uplift.

Experience
Laura began her career in the grocery retail industry in
1989 and joined Kroger in 2020 as Vice President of
Merchandising in the Houston Division. Prior to joining The
Kroger Co., she was the regional vice president of
Houston for Lowe’s Home Improvement Inc. Laura spent
28 years at H-E-B Grocery Company where she held a
variety of positions including group vice president of
Center Store Operations for the San Antonio Food Drug
Division, Border Regional Vice President of Operations,
District Manager, and Store Manager.

Education
Laura earned a Bachelor’s in Business Administration in
Marketing and Management from the University of
Texas El Paso in 1989. In 1999, Laura earned an MBA in
International Business from Our Lady of the Lake
University in San Antonio, Texas. In 2005, Laura
completed the Cornell University’s Food Industry
Management Program located in Ithaca, New York. In
2013, she graduated from the Harvard Business School
Advancement Management Program in Boston,
Massachusetts.

Personal
Laura is a first-generation Latina. She has been married
to Tim Gump for over 25 years and they have two
wonderful children (Aiden and Sophia) who are currently
attending college.
