About Sallie Rainer

Retired CEO, Entergy Texas

Sallie Rainer recently retired from Entergy Texas Inc., an electric utility that serves more
than 473,000 customers across 27 Southeast Texas counties where she most recently
served as president and chief executive officer.

Rainer assumed the CEO role in June 2012. Under her leadership, Entergy Texas
executed a robust capital plan to modernize infrastructure and strengthen reliability,
while keeping customer rates among the lowest in the nation. During her tenure, the
company invested over $2 billion in new generation, transmission and distribution
assets, including building the company’s first power plant in Texas since 1979.

Rainer was a champion of the company’s efforts to develop new customer-centric
solutions to improve the customer experience while increasing customer loyalty. Under
her leadership, Entergy Texas was been recognized three times by JD Power &
Associates as the top midsized utility brand across the Southeast.

Another key component of Sallie’s leadership model was her focus on volunteerism and
philanthropy in Southeast Texas communities. During her tenure, Entergy Texas
invested over $8.5 million back into the community with a focus on workforce
development, low-income assistance and environmental sustainability.
Sallie joined Entergy Corporation in 1984 in the generation planning department. She
held various management roles in long-term system planning, including resource
planning, continuous improvement, fuel procurement and energy settlements, before
being promoted to director of regulatory affairs and energy settlements. Before being
named to the CEO role at Entergy Texas, Ms. Rainer served as vice president, federal
policy.

She is a passionate mentor and tireless advocate for women in the corporation and acts
as a role model for women in the industry. Rainer spearheaded Entergy’s efforts to
increase the pipeline of female leaders throughout the company by creating the Entergy
Women’s Leadership Advisory Council. This organization serves as a forum for
networking, development and empowerment for female leaders across Entergy. In
2018, the Houston Business Journal recognized her as part of their 2018 Women Who
Mean Business awards.

Rainer currently serves as a member of the board of directors for Interfaith of The
Woodlands, the Greater Houston Women’s Chamber of Commerce, the Board of
Trustees for Houston Methodist The Woodland Hospital, and the Texas Children’s
Hospital Ambassadors and Leadership Cabinet. She also serves on the Texas A&M
University Engineering Advisory Board. She is a past board member of the Lone Star
College Foundation and the Montgomery County United Way.

Rainer holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering technology from Louisiana State
University and a master’s in business administration from Texas A&M University. She
and her family live in The Woodlands, Texas.
